In brief

CloudSense, a Salesforce-native CPQ platform used by more than 60 telecom operators, faced a growing procurement problem. TM Forum Open API conformance was becoming a requirement in most operator RFPs, and the traditional certification path was projected to take up to 26 months. Diverting senior engineers to manual endpoint mapping and conformance testing for that long was not an option without stalling the core product roadmap.
Working with Totogi, CloudSense certified all 13 of its TM Forum Open APIs in 30 days. The Totogi Ontology automated the conformance work from end to end, from interpreting the specifications to generating compliant code and validating it, so CloudSense became procurement-ready for TMF-compliant RFPs without pulling a single engineer off product development.

Impact

30 days TM Forum Open API certification, down from 26 months

13 TMF Open APIs certified in parallel

100% engineering resources preserved

Zero disruption to the product roadmap

Our excuse was always resources and time. A 26-month certification timeline meant pulling engineers off core product development, which was never going to happen.

Challenge

CloudSense is a Configure-Price-Quote platform built natively on Salesforce and used by more than 60 telecom operators across Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and Europe. As TM Forum Open API conformance moved from a differentiator to a procurement requirement, appearing in the majority of operator RFPs, CloudSense faced a clear risk. Without certification, it would be screened out of sales cycles it had every right to win.

The obstacle was the certification process itself. Doing it the traditional way meant tedious endpoint mapping, manual parsing of TM Forum documentation, and repetitive QA testing across multiple API versions. The team estimated the full effort at up to 26 months.

That timeline carried a second cost. Certifying in-house meant pulling senior engineers away from the product roadmap for close to two years, a trade CloudSense could not justify.

Solution

CloudSense turned to the Totogi Ontology, a telco-specific semantic layer that encodes standard telecom data structures, product models, and business logic. Trained on the TM Forum specifications and CloudSense’s existing API landscape, the Totogi Ontology gave the project the shared understanding needed to automate conformance across all 13 of CloudSense’s APIs.

On top of that layer, Totogi deployed AI agents to do the repetitive, expert-heavy work: parsing and interpreting the TM Forum documentation, auto-generating compliant code, mapping CloudSense endpoints to the TMF standards, and running automated validation across multiple API versions. Because the work was grounded in the shared semantic layer, the agents could certify all 13 APIs in parallel rather than one at a time.

The engagement ran as an overlay on CloudSense’s existing systems, with no rip-and-replace. Totogi delivered certification in 30 days without disrupting the product roadmap or diverting the engineering team.

Business
impact

CloudSense achieved full TM Forum Open API certification in 30 days, a 97% reduction against the 26-month timeline. All 13 APIs were certified in parallel with no compromise in quality, and the company became procurement-ready for the operator RFPs that now require TMF conformance.

The result came without the cost CloudSense had feared. Engineering resources were fully preserved, with zero disruption to the product roadmap. The manual, error-prone work of endpoint mapping, documentation parsing, and version-by-version testing was handled by an AI-automated process from end to end.

The engagement also left CloudSense with a reusable asset. The same AI framework can be applied to future TM Forum updates or new APIs, turning certification from a periodic, resource-draining project into a repeatable capability.
